Easy Asian Inspired Everything Sauce ~ Easy homemade Asian Inspired Everything Sauce works as a marinade, stir fry sauce, dipping sauce, and so much more.
By now you all know that I love Asian food. I love authentic. And I love the American take on Asian food. I love it all.
There are plenty of nights I am less concerned with authenticity and just seeking the flavor. Those are the nights that I am in a hurry and wanting to make a quick stir-fry. And it’s those nights that I don’t want to pull out all the various bottles and jars that go into making a decent sauce.
That’s how this Easy Asian Inspired Everything Sauce came to be. Over the years, I’ve had various bottles of ready-made sauces on hand for such evenings. Then I ran out. So, I made my own.
I am so happy I did. I use it on everything from stir-frys to marinades to dipping sauces.
How to Make Homemade Asian Stir Fry Sauce
It’s no secret I love my sweet/savory and sweet/heat combos, and my Easy Asian Inspired Everything Sauce is a bit of sweet heat and savory.
Of course, it’s also known I am a wimp, so my heat tolerance is fairly low. I’ve made this version incredibly mild so I nor the child has any issues, but please, feel free to crank it up by doubling or tripling the sriracha.
I’ve used garlic chili sauce in past, and it works marvelously but personally, I love the flavor of sriracha more. But if you don’t have sriarcha, you’ve got my stamp of approval to use garlic chili paste. It is pretty much equal in ratios, but as always, my advice is to adjust for your own tastes. Start with a little, add more as you go, but giving it time to infuse before adding more.
Making Easy Asian Inspired Everything Sauce is as simple as finding the right balance of sweet, savory, and heat. Once that was accomplished, it was a matter of putting it all in a pot, reducing, and calling it a day.
How to Make Homemade Asian Dipping Sauce
It’s pretty much as simple as making the sauce…let it reduce longer.
Or.
Make the sauce and then when you’re in need for a dipping sauce for egg rolls, pot stickers (gyoza), or any other reason, simply but two to three tablespoons more than the desired of dipping sauce back on the stove, bring to a boil, and reduce to desired thickness.
It really is that easy.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

September 20, 2018 at 12:22 amI love the sound of this sauce, it is delicious! Like you I have little time for the authoritarian approach to food authenticity, the story of all foods is the story of borrowing and sharing ideas, the story of the movement of peoples, one of evolution and growth, without those stories food feels empty to me.

September 20, 2018 at 3:25 pmLove your thinking. I love the history behind authentic equally as much as the story of food’s evolution from person to person through the years, places, and such.

May 25, 2020 at 3:32 pmInteresting. I have been making my own Teriyaki sauce in much the same way.
I use a base of 1 part soy sauce, one part Sake, and 1 1/2 parts Aji-mirin. With that base I’ll add whatever and reduce. Last time I added garlic, ginger, black sesame, and almond. I marinade the meat in the base.
Your recipe sounds very, very good. I am going to try it.
