Zoning In Perfectly

Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses.

I have been compensated by ZonePerfect® for this post; however I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own. #Ad #ZonePerfectRevitalizeSummer is in full swing, or technically half over.

Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses ~ The Complete Savorist by Michelle De La CerdaSince I am ‘glass half full’ kind of girl, I am going with it’s almost half over.

Why is that positive?

Because half over means we’re halfway towards school being back in session. Halfway to a normal routine again. Yes, the kid in me loathes that I have said this, but the responsible adult, single mom, work at home mom, and owner of 3 small businesses LOVES the idea of being back in school.

However, I fully embrace my only child is only a child for a short period of time. She’s already seven and time is moving forward. Now that she’s older, she is able to do more for herself (yay) and we’re able to do more things together that don’t require a stroller or her being held or carried when she loses her stamina (another yay).

I want her to have loads of carefree summer memories and fun things we’ve done and not a stressed out, ‘give my mom more coffee,’ ‘don’t poke the bear,’ summer memories.Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses ~ The Complete Savorist by Michelle De La CerdaTo be the best mom I can be (which is a wholly imperfect one) and to be the driven, hard-working, and successful entrepreneur, I need to spend time in both camps…Mommy and Professional Woman.

There is all this talk of finding balance in our lives and while I strive for that, it’s kind of unrealistic. There are times my daughter needs me more than work does, therefore I pause the work. Then there are times that I have to put more time and effort into work (single mom, only breadwinner, no money tree out back to pay those bills), and my daughter has to find ways to amuse herself or I have to seek outside help like daycare/babysitters (which doesn’t bother me in the least to do anymore, but that’s another story for another time.)Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses ~ The Complete Savorist by Michelle De La CerdaI am not superwoman. Far from it. There is a lot of stress and pressure put on me. I have deadlines for posts. Daughter has swim practice. I have meetings with clients. Daughter needs to be watered, fed, and given quality time.  I have tasks to complete by certain times for other clients. House needs cleaning, laundry needs doing, groceries need buying…the list goes on and on. But I have to stay mentally focused on the task at hand, which ever task that is.

We can all agree that we only have so much energy in a day, so a pick me up is needed. I joke about my afternoon coffee, but it’s the truth, somewhere between 3-5 pm, I find myself brewing a cup or two and reaching for a snack. I need some protein and caffeine for mental focus and sharpness.Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses ~ The Complete Savorist by Michelle De La CerdaLuckily, I have found a way to combine that need for caffeine and protein into one item (and I don’t even have to leave my desk for it). ZonePerfect® Revitalize for Mental Focus Bars. I’ve been a fan of the Zone Perfect bars for a long time (see here). Now they have these new Revitalize bars combining protein (at least 10g of protein to help me stay full longer), caffeine from green tea (about 1/2 cup of coffee’s worth for mental sharpness and focus), and choline, (a nutrient to support brain health–which let’s face it, I need all the brain health I can get.)

My favorite is the Salted Caramel Latte, which has 11 grams of protein (hey, every little gram helps). I’ve eaten A LOT of protein bars in my life. They are my go-to snack. Plus they’re perfect for when I am on the go. I pop them into my bag or purse and snack while at swim practice or in-between errands. Just don’t keep them in the hot car…I learned the hard way. Oops.

And to be perfectly honest, one of the things I love most about these new Revitalize bars besides that laundry list above is THAT THEY TASTE GOOD. Seriously.

Long ago, every time I’d try a new bar, I’d tense up, preparing for that gritty, quasi-not real food, cardboard-ish taste of protein bars of yore. I know you all know what taste I am referring to, but happy to say they’ve all come a long way.Zoning In Perfectly ~ Trying to find productivity, energy, balance, and fulfillment as a busy single mom and owner of three small businesses ~ The Complete Savorist by Michelle De La CerdaI’ve not had that experience with any of my ZonePerfect Revitalize bars, even when I try a new formula of theirs, I still seize with that fear (past experience is strong conditioning my friends). I am thrilled and excited to say these bars don’t have that AT ALL. These honestly taste like a treat/dessert versus something with some nutritional value and I love that.

I discovered these ZonePerfect Revitalize bars at Target in the lunchbox aisle. Pop on down ASAP. They have 3 flavors for you to choose from, Hot Chocolate Marshmallow, Strawberry Shortcake, and Salted Caramel Latte. Which flavor are you leaning towards?
