French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf hearty white bread
  • 4 eggs; beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter/oil/cooking spray
  • Strawberry coulis

Instructions

  1. Heat a griddle to medium a medium heat. Once heated, apply a bit of butter, oil, or cooking spray.
  2. While the griddle is heating up, beat the eggs and milk together. Add the vanilla, nutmeg, sugar, and salt. Whisk all the ingredients together.
  3. Dip a slice of bread in the egg mixture, allowing the bread to thoroughly soak up the liquid. Flip and repeat.
  4. Place the bread on the heated and greased griddle.
  5. Leave it for about three minutes or until cooked on that side.
  6. Flip and allow them to finish cooking, about two minutes.
  7. Time is based on my griddle heat and temperature.
  8. Adjust for your own appliance, as each is different.
  9. Plate the French toast and top as desired.
  10. Butter, strawberry coulis, and powdered sugar is sure delicious!
