Basic Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup HOT (not boiling) water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 pkg (2tbsp) yeast
  • 6 cups flour; divided 3/3
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Using an electric mixer with the dough hook attachment, add the water, oil, yeast, sugar, salt and 3 cups of flour.
  2. Mix until combined.
  3. Slowly add the 3 remaining cups of flour.
  4. Mix until combined.
  5. Let it sit in the mixer, mix ever 10 minutes for the 50 minutes.
  6. After 50 minutes, place on a floured board, let sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Cut the dough to suit.
  8. Roll dough out and use in desired sheet/pan/oven/stone.
  9. Once rolled, brush edges with olive oil.
  10. Top and bake.

Recipe Notes

This will make 3 large, baking sheet pizzas, or up to 10 personal size pizzas, depending on how you chose to divide it.
